Join your fellow delegates for the Conference Opening General Session. This upbeat session will set the stage for the conference with entertainment and a dynamic keynote speaker.

The Keynote speaker is Joel Zeff, who will speak on “Making the Right Choice.” You will not want to miss Joel to experience communication, teamwork, creativity, change, leadership, responsibility, passion and FUN!

Joel Zeff creates energy and captivates audiences with a unique blend of hilarious improvisational comedy and essential ideas on work and life. A former newspaper journalist and public relations executive, Joel started his own consulting business in 1994. His business initially focused on helping technology companies with marketing and public relations. As he worked with so many cultures, he noticed the glaring need for employees to have more fun and reenergize their creative spirit.

CPRS will also present the brand promise and key messages to help position parks and recreation as an essential community service.

Building The Brand - parks & recreation as an essential community service

“Building the Brand” will be a year long effort to define that which is relevant, believable and compelling about parks and recreation and communicate that to audiences who influence opinions and decisions about them, including CPRS members.

CPRS members will be participating in a survey to determine the profession’s brand promise and key messages.

“Building the Brand” embodies the values, vision and mission of parks and recreation as set forth in the Creating Community VIP Action Plan.
