Wildhorse Golf Club was voted the “Best Golf Course in Yolo County 2005” by readers of The Davis Enterprise newspaper. This scenic course offers beauty in many forms. Nestled in 170 acres of an old walnut orchard, the 18-hole championship course is enjoyable for players of all skill levels. With water coming into play on several holes due to Covell Creek’s presence, the links style golf course enables the golfers to either enjoy the golf course, or tackle it, depending on skill levels and how risky you want to play.
Registration includes green fees, cart, box lunch, range balls, BBQ dinner and beverages at Woodland’s new Community & Sr. Center, closest to the pin contest, long-drive contest, tee prizes, awards and a great raffle.
Format: Four-person scramble ~ any combination of women or men. If you don’t have a foursome, we will pair you with other players.

Walk the Talk Contest “Going The Extra Mile”
Many of us encourage our customers to make healthy lifestyle choices through increasing their physical activity, but how many of us really practice what we preach? Here is a great opportunity to take the first step by picking up your free pedometer (while supplies last) & contest rules, so you can track the number of steps that you take during the conference. Your goal is to take at least 10,000 steps per day (or approximately 5 miles) to walk your way to better fitness! In addition to the contest you can participate in a number of activities that will keep you moving such as the Walking Tour, Fun Run/Walk and the Urban Forest Tour.
Prizes will be awarded for the three highest numbers of steps taken - just stop by the CPRS Booth in the Expo Show on Friday, March 9 between 1:30 - 1:45 p.m. to turn in your number of steps. Prizes will be awarded immediately following at 2:15 p.m.

Join in with fellow conference goers for a walk to see the many downtown Sacramento historic sites—the State Capitol, the Leland Stanford Mansion, the Crocker Art Museum and down Capitol Mall, ending in historic Old Sacramento at the historic waterfront. Walkers will be offered the opportunity to stay in old town for dinner or to walk back together to the conference hotels. Don’t miss the opportunity to add to your steps taken for the “Walk the Talk Contest” while meeting colleagues from all over the state. Meet us at the “Walk through Time” sign at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Rally at the State Capital!
Immediately following the General Session delegates will march to the west steps of the State Capital for our 3rd parks and recreation rally! This year’s focus – “Youth Sports and Fitness” presents an outstanding opportunity to educate state policy makers about the vital role local park and recreation agencies play in providing safe and supervised youth sports and fitness programs and services. With 3 out of 4 of California’s youth either overweight or obese, “We Start Right Here, Right Now” promoting our role as providers of quality youth sports and fitness programs.
Be sure to wear your staff shirt, hat, or jacket and bring an agency banner or signs displaying your youth sports and fitness programs and services!

Fun Run/Walk – “Come Run or Walk the Talk with Us”

We will kick off the run with a quick aerobic warm up followed by a 5k run/walk. Registration includes T-shirt (pre-registration participants are guaranteed a t-shirt the day of the event), goodie bag, snacks and refreshments. The course will take you around beautiful Capitol Park and have you back in time to get ready for sessions. This event will take place rain or shine. Times will be posted at the Information & Message Center and a prize drawing will be held for those that participate with the winning numbers listed at the Information & Message Center. So grab your running or walking shoes and join us! |

A City of Trees Experience: Capitol Park Guided Walk

This is a guided tour, complete with a brochure reference to the park’s extensive tree collection, many planted over a century and a half ago.
