You Are Invited to Participate in CPRS Legislative Committee Meetings

Meetings of the CPRS Legislative Committee are open to all members.

Throughout the year, the CPRS Legislative Committee holds monthly meetings to keep current on legislative issues. The committee reviews newly introduced legislation to determine CPRS' position and tracks progress on bills it has either supported, opposed, or place on “watch.” The committee meets twice in person (once at the annual CA and Pacific Southwest Recreation and Park Training Conference, usually in March, and once in December). To access the 2007 meeting schedule click here.

Other meetings are held via conference calls which are held on the 2nd Monday of the month. Members can easily access these calls in two ways:

  1. Call in from your desk; the dial-in number is 712/432-2222; access code is 6652777#. There is a long distance charge if you choose to call in. One member has indicated the calls are very affordable (less than $7 for a 45 minute call) - even when using a cell phone!
  2. Go to one of the call sites identified on the 2007 meeting schedule . We ask that you email the call site host to let them know you will be attending in person and they can provide driving directions if needed.
