Description:

With the growing number of individuals diagnosed with diabetes, education and strategies to increase the health, wellness and quality of life of the population is paramount.  This workshop is designed for those that currently work with individuals diagnosed as well as teaching prevention as part of your current practice/program.


 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn about the diagnostics, treatment and prevention of diabetes as it relates to recreation therapy
  • Identify best practices in treatment and ways to support individuals diagnosed
  • Practice facilitation techniques and strategies to include this population in programming and education and prevention programming for those at risk
