Accessibility Guidelines in Play Areas Training

This new training workshop is designed to better educate park and recreation professionals, designers, landscape architects, risk managers, operators, restaurant owners and others about the accessibility guidelines for play areas. These guidelines are now required for certain federal play areas covered by the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), and are awaiting adoption under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as the enforceable standard for newly constructed and altered play areas. To read more about the Federal guidelines, click here:  http://www.access-board.gov/play/index.htm .

CPRS Playground Safety Committee

The members of this committee have been involved in California Playground Safety in two ways:

  1. Assisted in the development and writing of the CPSRs by sitting on a task force organized by the CA Department of Health Services, and/or
  2. Professionals working regularly with the CA regulations, helping create a CA Standard Inspection/Audit Format and Report Form
