Why have you chosen to run for the CPRS State Board of Directors?
I bring passion, an ability to connect with members, and innovation to the State Board of Directors. I have an incredible passion for this profession and the critical work we do. I will use my ingenuity and resourcefulness to provide our members with opportunities to learn, develop, and thrive. I bring the willingness to try new ideas and a passion for connecting all our members with the remarkable opportunities and services that CPRS provides.
With two years of experience on the State Board, I have learned how the State Board of Directors operates and our role within the organization. I am prepared to continue the work with JEDI, focus on our members, and provide input to advance CPRS. I am eager to continue serving our members and strive to develop a personal connection for all our members with CPRS.

What personal attributes, skills, or knowledge would you bring to the State Board of Directors if elected?
I have decided to run again for the Region 1 Representative to continue the work that I’ve begun. Improved member engagement and our work with JEDI within CPRS are two areas that I am passionate about that we can continue to improve. I feel I have only started to take steps to help CPRS move down a more successful path. In addition, I want to continue to assist our local district leaders as we emerge from the pandemic and look at the best ways to meet our member’s current needs through local education, networking, and other opportunities.

What is the greatest challenge our profession faces and how will you lead to address that challenge?
The greatest challenge we currently face is how quickly we can adapt to a changing world. With so many factors affecting how our profession operates, such as changing societal norms, laws, and even homelessness, how do we respond quickly to provide our members with the resources they need to succeed?

Our profession reacted and readjusted well during the pandemic, but there are so many other unknowns. How can we as a profession have reliable data/research, create best practices, and share vital information to allow our members to tackle what faces our communities? I will strive to advocate for innovation, look at new ways of operating that best serve our members, and provide opportunities for members to share their successes.
