For those of you who are attending conference in Palm Springs this year. We would like to let you know that registration of the Annual Brunch "Rising Stars & Guiding Lights" is currently open. 

Connecting our scholarship awardees – and our professions’ Rising Stars – with our top-notch agency leaders – those Guiding Lights – is the theme of our brunch this year!  Come join the CPRS Admin Section and the California Foundation for Parks & Recreation (CFPR) as we celebrate all that our association, foundation and our profession accomplished this year.  We promise, you’ll leave inspired for our bright future!

The election deadline for your state, district or section open board positions is fast approaching!

We need ALL candidates, whether for the CPRS State Board, a District, or a Section Board, to submit their interest via one ONLINE SUBMISSION form by Thursday, November 30^th, 2023!

CPRS has now launched a new platform for those who are interested in becoming a CPRS leader. Whether it is for a District or State board position, the processed has become more streamlined.

The CPRS Administration Section is proud to announce its annual Professional Development Scholarship program to members who seek assistance to attend CPRS Administrators Section trainings and events. Applicants may apply for funds to cover the cost of registration for an event sponsored by the CPRS Administrators Section. Two (2) scholarships will be available for each of the following: the Directors' Academy and for the CPRS Conference.  

Only one scholarship may be awarded per member, per fiscal year (May 1 - April 30). Applicant must be an active member of the CPRS Administrative Section and complete the application viewable on the CPRS website under Administrators Section. Applications will be reviewed and scored by the Scholarship Committee, with awards approved by the Administrators Section Board. All Scholarships will be issued based upon availability.

The deadline to submit scholarship applications are as follows:

Director's Academy:  Friday, August 18, 2023

CPRS Conference:  October 4, 2023

Registration is now open for the RecWest Outdoor Products & Landscape Structures CPRS Administrators Section Director’s Academy presented by Great Western Recreation. The event takes place in San Luis Obispo on October 5-6, 2023. Register here!

Hotel San Luis Obispo have rooms at the group rate available if the reservation is made over the phone.  The phone number is (805) 235-0700 (option 2-Corporate Bookings).  Inform them that you are booking with the California Park & Recreation Society.  Book your room early as rooms are limited.
