  • 1.  Why Serve District 7?

    Posted 28 days ago

Serving on the CPRS District 7 Board is an opportunity to strengthen both the profession and your own leadership experience.

District 7 exists to connect parks and recreation professionals, provide professional development and education, advocate for the profession, strengthen relationships among agencies, and cultivate future leaders.

Board service gives you the opportunity to:

    • Represent your peers and bring member perspectives into District decision-making.
    • Build your professional network across agencies and communities throughout District 7 and CPRS.
    • Develop leadership skills through governance, projects, events, and collaboration.
    • Contribute to professional development and help create opportunities for others in the field.
    • Give back to the profession by helping shape the future of parks and recreation in our region.
    • Expand your involvement in CPRS and gain experience that can lead to broader leadership opportunities.

This year, nominations are open for Vice President and three Director-at-Large positions. Directors-at-Large represent the general membership and chair at least one District event or project, while the Vice President begins a three-year leadership pathway through the President-Elect and President roles.

Know someone who might be a great fit for District 7 leadership-or interested yourself? Use the form below to express your own interest or recommend someone District 7 should reach out to. Submitting someone's name does not place them on the ballot. It simply allows CPRS District 7 to reach out and invite them to learn more about the opportunity.

Got questions? Email Brandon Taylor at brtaylor@csufresno.edu.

Candidate submissions are due to CPRS Headquarters by November 6, 2026.
