    Good Morning District 1,

    Please find these wonderful scholarship opportunities below!

    Professional Development Scholarship
    CPRS District 1 is proud to offer a Professional Development Scholarship(s) for individuals interested in
    continuing their career development in the Parks and Recreation industry. Awarded applicants will receive a
    2023 CPRS Conference registration. Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria and selection process:

    Criteria and Selection Process
    • Applicants must volunteer at a CPRS District 1 event, or assist on a subcommittee, within the coming year or in the past year of the potentially awarded scholarship.
    • Applicants must demonstrate a dedication to the profession through current and past professional affiliations and involvement.
    • Applicants must be current CPRS District 1 members.
    • Scholarships will be awarded based on the above-listed criteria and the application's merit. The District 1 Board reserves the right to reject applications that do not meet the requirements.
    Student Scholarships
    CPRS District 1 is proud to offer Student Scholarships in the amount of at least $500, to be used towards
    college fees, tuition, books, or training. Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria and selection
    process:
    Criteria and Selection Process
    • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university or credential program, and show proof of enrollment by providing a copy of unofficial transcripts.
    • Applicants must either live, attend school, or work for the Parks and Recreation Department of a local municipality within the District 1 boundaries of Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Trinity Counties.
    • Applicants must demonstrate a dedication to the recreation profession through current and past professional affiliations and involvement.
    • Scholarships will be awarded based on the above-listed criteria and the application's merit. The District 1 Board reserves the right to reject applications that do not meet the requirements.
    Application Submission & Notification
    The deadline to apply has been EXTENDED to Friday, January 27, 2023 by 5:00pm. All applications submitted before the deadline will
    be reviewed by the CPRS District 1 Executive Board. All applicants will be notified of their application status via
    email. Selected recipients will be recognized at the District 1 Awards and Installation Banquet in February.
