Hello D10!

My name is Jake Hopkins, and I am your current D10 president. I work as a Community Services Supervisor for the City of Fountain Valley. I have been working in Recreation for 11 years and have overseen Facility Rentals, Special Events, Aquatics, Contract Classes, and more!

A fun fact is that I was once in a JLO Music Video.

Another fun fact is that I have one half-uncle, one half-aunt, four Uncles, one Aunt, and three step-aunts. 

I am so excited to continue to serve in CPRS this year, and I know our amazing board has lots of great things planned.

Hey hey D10!!  

My name is Ashley Wysocki and I am the Director of Community & Library Services for the City of Huntington Beach!  I've been in the field of recreation for 21 years....holy cow, I didn't realize that until just now! 

A couple of fun facts about me:

My all-time favorite band is Incubus....I've seen them live 61 times (and counting)!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are the greatest candy ever, and I always have them available in my office!

I'm a former Aquatics Section Treasurer and Past President for our local Women In Leisure Services (WILS) Chapter and for WILS National.  

I don't make it out nearly enough to D10 events, so someone should really start holding me accountable!  Thanks to all of our D10 leaders for everything they do to further the profession!

It's been great to read up on all the amazing people in our D10 community.  My name is Joy Warren, Recreation Superintendent with the City of Long Beach. I've been in recreation for 29 years (gasp!). In case you haven't seen yet, the next CPRS District & Section Challenge has been announced, where it focuses on introductions!

If you are unaware of the CPRS District & Section Challenge, this initiative, created by CPRS HQ with the support of the Member Engagement Committee, aims to encourage greater involvement of CPRS members while fostering friendly competition among districts and sections. Each month, CPRS districts and sections will compete head-to-head for the chance to claim victory and win the coveted GRAND PRIZE at the Connections 2025: CPRS Conference & Expo in Sacramento.

Here is an overview of how the challenge works: Each month, a new challenge will be presented, and the TOP FIVE districts or sections in each challenge will earn points. At the Connections 2025 Conference, the district or section with the highest overall points will be declared the winner with a small prize for each member of the winning district or section.

To ensure fairness, points will be awarded based on percentages rather than raw numbers, ensuring that districts and sections of all sizes have an equal opportunity to succeed.

This thread will be used as the main hub for introductions, and we encourage as many members to introduce themselves to showcase that we truly are #D10Strong!
