Hi Parks Make Life Better supporter!

For a third year, we are promoting Parks Make Life Better! (PMLB) month by partnering with Agents of Discovery– an augmented reality game (think Pokemon GO) that you can set up in your parks.  Interested?? Here’s the scoop….

What a CPRS Agents of Discovery Partner – and CPRS receive:

    • Up to 20 CPRS agencies can set up a FREE account with Agents of Discovery, for the months of June (set up) and July (launch game for Parks Make Life Better! month)
      • Agencies who participated last year are eligible to participate again
      • Open to agencies who are not current A of D subscribers only
      • NEW this year - Your very own custom A of D Avatar, dressed in a PMLB shirt, of course!
    • You create your Parks Make Life Better! ‘missions’ within one of your parks (or 2 or 5 or however many parks you’d like), then promote this fun and physically distancing capable game out to your communities
    • Training via webinar is a MUST, provided by Agents of Discovery - June 4 or 11
    • Set up of the game is very easy and shouldn’t take more than an hour to complete, depending on how detailed you want your game to be – seriously!
    • Agents of Discovery does the rest… including tracking how many people interact with your PMLB Missions, which missions were most liked, what parks were most visited, etc
    • Your agency receives a great engagement tool for your community to interact with (while physically distancing) in your park(s), as well as data to back up what that engagement looked like

Our friends at Agents of Discovery will:

    • Give up to 20 CPRS Agencies FREE access to their platform for the months of June (set up) and July (launch game for PMLB month)
    • Create a custom A of D Avatar for each participating agency, dressed in a PMLB shirt!
    • Provide training for all agencies interested in participating

A little friendly competition to sweeten the deal...

    • The agency with the most downloads between July 1 – 31, 2020 will win an extended AoD license!  The 2 runners up will win AoD/CPRS Prize Packs.

Learn more about Agents of Discovery here.  Then email me ASAP if you are IN!

Help us promote Parks Make Life Better! month AND get your community engaged this July!

And please let me know if you have any questions…

  • COVID 19 Updates & Event Cancellations

Good afternoon CPRS District 10 members,

In conjunction with Governor Newsom’s updated guidelines regarding actions across all communities throughout California to limit the spread of COVID-19, the upcoming Awards and Installation Banquet on Thursday, March 26 has been cancelled. Credit card payments were not processed, paperwork will be shredded, and checks will be voided and returned. We will work to devise a way to install the incoming 20/21 Board of Directors over the coming weeks. Our outgoing and incoming boards are committed to honoring our 2020 sponsors, award winners, scholarship recipients and volunteers. We will find creative ways to do so throughout the year as life gets back to normal.

We are also canceling the Mentoring Wrap-Up Lunch that was scheduled for this Wednesday, March 18. At this time, there have been no changes or cancellations made to the following scheduled activities:

    • Rec Leader Training Consortium Saturday, May 2
    • Total Guard Training Saturday, June 6

Lastly, the D10 Leadership is committed to our responsibilities entering the 20/21 year so we can continue to serve our members and the profession, in standard District 10 fashion. All the best to you and yours during this time.

Dave Bang Associates is excited to announce that we have become the Southern California exclusive dealers of Berliner Playground Equipment. Berliner makes movement the core of all their play equipment. Berliner’s equipment is all about movement and play. Its climbing, swinging, balancing etc. encourage a playful sense of balance, reactions, challenge and agility. Berliner playground landscapes are instantly recognizable, with their combination of extensive rope design, interesting geometry and durable material.

Dave Bang Associates, Playworld and the Magical Bridge Foundation have joined forces to make play and community available to all abilities • all ages • all welcome. Let’s discuss how to make your playgrounds truly inclusive. Our design philosophy welcomes EVERYONE, finally including the 1-in-4 of us living with a disability. However, we are NOT talking a special needs playground because we don’t believe there is anything special about needing a place to play. We are simply designing playgrounds for ALL.

Team up with us to maximize your Prop 68 funds. Use your allocation to upgrade your existing facilities or into Magical Bridge inclusive playground (magicalbridge.org). With our deep discounts, piggy-back contracts and turn-key services, a new playground or fitness area will be easy.

    Hi D10 Members!

“I am big enough to admit that I am often inspired by myself.”- Leslie Knope

December is all about the spirit of giving and we're eager to start our New Year's resolution early by giving our members an interactive email they can be excited to read. Introducing the D10 District Digest, our new monthly email newsletter!

In addition to the quarterly Ten Type, this newsletter will you keep you updated on all CPRS District 10 events, introduce you to members, and share opportunities to get more involved. Besides being pretty to look at, the best part about this newsletter is subscribers don’t need to be CPRS D10 members! This means your part-time staff, students, friends, and even your curious grandma can start getting involved in CPRS. Click here to see December’s edition and here to subscribe now to make sure you don't miss any future emails!

Please share with anyone you think might be interested and don't be shy about giving us feedback!
