Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression - SOGIE 101 Foundational Training by Santa Clara County  Office of LGBTQ Affairs

Start your workday with a cup of coffee and a conversation with fellow Recreation Professionals as we discuss Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression. This foundational training is strengths-based, evidence-informed, and provides best practices for supporting LGBTQ+ community members. This includes LGBTQ+ terminology, principles for effective communication, and LGBTQ+ accepting behaviors. Due to bias, stigma, and misinformation, the LGBTQ+ community is under-served in many institutional settings. This training provides basic tools that will allow you to create affirming environments.
