(In-Person) Certified Playground Safety Inspector Course & Exam

Hosted by the City of San Jose at the Leininger Community Center (1300 Senter Road, San Jose, CA 95112).
Playing outdoors is a major component in the health and wellness of our children. It is our responsibility to ensure safe, enjoyable play areas for all. CPRS, in conjunction with NRPA, are offering the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) course and certification to properly train and certify you to recognize and prevent potential playground hazards. Courses are designed for park and rec staff, school districts, child care facilities, health departments, landscape architects, playground manufacturers, installers, contractors, insurance firms, home owner's associations and more.
Candidates who successfully pass the exam will be considered a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) and will be added to the National Registry. Obtaining CPSI certification will meet the State of California requirements regarding the inspection of playgrounds. Did you know recertification is required every three years?
Whether you are recertifying or pursuing a certification for the first time, we invite you to join us for this in-person experience which involves two days of instruction (8 am - 5 pm) with lunch provided followed by a two-hour exam on the third day.
You may opt to participate in only the course, both the course and exam, or only the exam.
This course and exam is available to CPRS members for $750 and non-members for $900. This registration fee includes course materials, two days of live instruction, two lunches, 1.5 Continuing Education Units ("CEUs"), and exam access.
