CPRS Governance

How CPRS is Governed

The California Park & Recreation Society mission is to advance the park and recreation profession through education, networking, resources and advocacy.

Our Board of Directors is responsible for fulfilling that mission by creating and monitoring governing policies that ultimately lead us to our desired outcomes - our 'Ends'.

In the End...

  • CPRS exists for the success of our members and the profession while operating in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Members are united in their commitment to improving people's lives.
  • Members have the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to be successful in their profession.
  • Policy makers vote with the premise that parks and recreation is an essential service.

Board of Director Meetings - Open to all who are interested in attending!

The Board of Directors meet 4 times per year in a retreat style format.  A monthly conference call is also hosted, to ensure communication lines are always open among the board and interested members.  Please RSVP to Janet Albritton or 916-665-2777, if you wish to attend a meeting or be a part of our monthly conference call.
