  • 1.  Baseball/Softball Tournament Fees

    Posted 05-16-2023 05:19 PM

    Hello CPRS D3,

The City of Newark is seeking to revise our Master Fee Schedule for tournaments held at our ball fields, specifically for softball and Little League. Is there anyone who would be kind enough to provide details on their current tournament fees? I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to exchange a list of fees with those who can offer assistance or are willing to share their information :-)

    Thank you!

    Hey Nick,

Nice to meet you. We have our fees set up in a way that has generally worked out pretty well for tournaments. We have our regular rates, and then we have our Commercial Resident and Commercial Non Resident rates which automatically kicks in for tournaments, if you are providing a good or service, or charging an admission fee. This is for all groups that are not considered "Dublin Youth Sports Leagues". For those who are DYSL's they will receive their normal rate if they host a tournament and at least one Dublin team is taking part in the tournament (sounds obvious but hosting doesn't always mean playing) if not it is automatically the commercial rate. Outside of our hourly field fee, we do charge a mandatory fee to cover maintenance for all tournaments. This fee is attached to one field per hour per day.

Link attached that will give you our full fee breakdown at the very bottom: https://dublin.ca.gov/DocumentCenter/View/19755/Sports-Field-and-Gym-Rental-Application

Hope this helps, reach out if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Anthony

    Hi Nick,

The City of Pleasanton does not currently charge youth sports user groups any fees for field usage- practices, games, or tournaments.
We are currently creating a policy to introduce fees (it's a big one).  Our draft proposes a separate fee to tournaments, camps, and clinics.

We would be very interested to see what other cities are charging their groups for tournaments.  This could really help us with our proposed fee table.

    Thank you!
