"A FRESH START ISN'T A PLACE, IT'S A MINDSET"
Last week Thursday, I received a letter I had written to my "future me" while at the CPRS State Conference 6 months ago! (Side note: can you believe that was 6 months ago?)
As I read the letter, I marveled at some of the accuracies of what I had told my future self would be true. Other items, well, still "need improvement." This was a fun exercise and helped me celebrate my wins, but also realign or pivot in other areas.
Your turn! Take a moment and think about where were you 6 months ago. Now, first thing first, congratulate yourself for your wins! Next, examine where more growth is needed. Finally, tell your current self where you see your future self in 6 months or a year.
Need some accountability (the answer is yes, we all do!). Write yourself a quick letter using www.futureme.org (it is free). Write the letter as if these things are already true, in real time. Here is an excerpt from my letter as an example...
"Dear Future Me,
You are living a beautiful life. You are in alignment with what you value (life/work balance, seeing family, traveling)....(insert some goals here)...You are confident and filled with wonder and joy.
If any if this is not true…take this moment to re-evaluate and realign!
Tracy"
