Join District 2 for the annual General Memebership Meeting! The meeting will feature small group discussions, a District 2 update, opportunities to network with professionals in our area and a keynote session. A no-host social is scheduled to follow the event at the The Hub Eats & Drinks  in Sacramento.

Keynote Session presented by Kristi McClure Huckaby

We are excited to announce this year's keynote speaker, Kristi McClure Huckaby, an Advocate for Parks & Recreation for Life! Kristi McClure Huckaby brings over 30 years’ experience in customer service, building teams, leadership, management of facility design and operations, marketing, curiosity for lifelong learning, succession planning and process improvements.  As a prior Parks & Recreation Director, Kristi has a welcoming attitude with an engaging client service mindset to deliver memorable life experiences to those she encounters as well as her team members.  With her “can do attitude” and customer driven focus she relies on her experiences, her team’s input and delivery to provide the best services to the community.

Kristi has been recognized and awarded by the local, state and national levels for her leadership and commitment to the parks and recreation profession.  She held leadership positions with California Park and Recreation Society serving as State Board President in 2016-17, CPRS District 10 Past President, and the National Recreation and Park Association Pacific Southwest Regional Network Leadership Chair 2010-2012.

Her education consists of a Master in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies & a Master in Public Administration both from California State University, Long Beach. She has served as a lecturer at California State University Long Beach, College of Health and Human Services, Recreation and Leisure Studies Department teaching Facility Design and Operations, Introduction to Recreation, and Organization Theory.  In addition when taking on a role of Deputy of Community & Personnel Services, she returned to college to receive a Human Resources Management Certificate from University of California, Irvine.
