District 2 is your local connect to the California Park & Recreation Society. It is the largest geographic district serving the following counties: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Yolo and Yuba. With more then 60 park & recreation agencies in District 2 we are dedicated to enhancing the park & recreation profession in our district.

District 2 provides members a vehicle of recognition, support, education, and development for services and activities within the district.

  • Tee Off with D2 at Top Golf for General Membership Meeting on 12/9

    Save the date and tee off with D2 at our upcoming General Membership Meeting! Join us on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 3-5 pm at Top Golf in Roseville. The event will feature updates from D2 President Kate Miller and CPRS Executive Director Stephanie Stephens, along with appetizers, networking, and team-building activities led by D2’s Director of Programming, Justin Douthit. Don’t miss out—and get in the swing of things and register today!

  • Park Forum - Don't Forget to Submit a Session & Register!!

    District 2 is proud to announce the return of the 3rd Annual Park Forum Event in 2025! SAVE THE DATE - The 2025 Park Forum will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 8:30AM - 1:45PM at the Maidu Community Center in Roseville, CA. Registration is open! $35 per person, $25 per Student or $160 when you register 5 attendees. Register HERE!

    The Call for Sessions is coming to a close soon for this event, so don't miss out on your chance to share your experience and expertise! If you are interested in leading a session, please submit your session proposal using the CPRS online system HERE, make sure to check mark the "Park Forum" box in the "About Your Session" section. We encourage you to submit a session proposal surrounding the following themes: Technical Skills (i.e. turf management, irrigation, tree trimming, playgrounds, hands-on demo's, etc.), General Leadership, Administration, Park Planning, Technology in the Field and more! Deadline for submissions is this Friday, November 22nd, COB.

    This year's event will include three educational periods with even more sessions to chose from, lunch, opportunities to network and an opening keynote session presented by Jill Geller, Parks, Recreation & Libraries Director for the City of Roseville. Last year's event was a sell out, so don't miss your chance to register yourself & others from your agency.

    Active Aging Lunch n’ Learn - Events, Tips, and Partnerships
    Date: December 4th 
    Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. 
    Location: Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center, 3480 Routier Rd. Sacramento, CA 95827

    Join us for a roundtable discussion covering day trips and Collette Vacation Trips, monthly and community events for seniors, leveraging partnerships, health and resource fairs, special events, and more! Registration is free. Please bring your own lunch, or RSVP for a $6 award-winning lunch. Pre-registration is required three business days before the event.     Join us for coffee, cookies, and conversations! This event offers park and recreation professionals a chance to enjoy a sweet treat while engaging in meaningful discussions on current hot topics in our industry.
