Public Awareness Program

Since January 2001, CPRS has been working with i.e. communications, LLC to develop a statewide public relations program. i.e. communications began its work with CPRS by first researching the awareness and understanding the general public, media and key stakeholders had of the role of parks and recreation in creating community through people, parks and programs. The next step was to develop the core messages and refine the target audiences.

The core messages developed were that parks and recreation creates community by providing:
space to create and imagine
space to be safe and secure
space to learn and play

To help agencies communicate with policy makers, stakeholders, non-profit organizations, media and the general public, CPRS created a variety of resources for agencies to use at their local level.
