Throughout July, we invite you to join us in highlighting the many ways that your agency creates community through people, parks and programs through your social media channels. Here are some suggestions on how you can participate and make the most of this month online:
How can you participate? It’s easy!
- Share Your Stories: Encourage followers to post their own park stories, photos, and videos using the campaign hashtags #ParksMakeLifeBetter and #PMLB2024. Feature their content on your social media pages to build community and engagement.
- Staff and Volunteer Spotlights: Highlight your staff and volunteers on your social media channels. Share their stories and contributions to by tagging them and use #ParksMakeLifeBetter. Remember, Park and Recreation Professionals Day is Friday 19, 2024! Show your appreciation for the team and inspire others to get involved.
- Promote environmental Stewardship: Teach your audience sustainable practices through informative posts and videos. Share tips on how to help keep parks clean, conserve resources, and protect wildlife.
- Celebrate and Play: Post fun and playful content that encourages followers to celebrate and enjoy their parks. Host online contests, share ideas for family-friendly games, or a virtual scavenger hunt (e.g. the Parks Make Life Better Month® mission with Agents of Discovery.
- Engage Diverse Communities: Use your social media platforms to spotlight diverse groups and their activities in the parks. Share content that reflects different cultures, ages, abilities, and interests to promote inclusivity and equity.
