  • 2016 CPRS Conference Scholarship Applications DUE Wednesday!!!!

    District 13 Conference Scholarship!

    PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP:

    To assist parks and recreation professionals looking to develop and increase their knowledge in the field, by providing them the opportunity to attend the 2016 CPRS Conference.

    DESCRIPTION OF SCHOLARSHIP:

    Each scholarship will consist of a full 2016 CPRS Conference registration. Up to two scholarships will be awarded. The District 13 Board of Directors will review all applications and determine eligible awardees based on financial need and merit.

     

    REQUIREMENTS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP:

    (Candidates must meet all of the following requirements.)

    • Candidates must be employed within District 13 up to the mid-management (supervisory) level.
    • The award is open only to professionals working directly in the field of Parks and Recreation (working a minimum of 20 hours per week).
    • Applicant must be a current member of CPRS.
    • Applicants must commit to attending 3 days of the conference, March 8-11 2016.
    • Provide a letter of recommendation from an immediate supervisor or director approving attendance/time off to attend the conference March 8-11, 2016 and verifying that the city has not budgeted and does not have the means to pay conference fees.

     

    SELECTION OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS AND PRESENTATION OF AWARDS:

    Qualified applicants who meet all   the criteria and complete the application will have their application reviewed by the District 13 Board. The Board will select recipient(s) to receive the scholarship. A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded. Only one person per agency is eligible to win. Applications must be received by Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.  CPRS Conference Scholarship recipient(s) will be announced at the annual CPRS District 13 Holiday Cheer Luncheon on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. A congratulatory letter will be sent to recipient(s) the following week.
