  • CPRS District 13 Scholarship/Awards Applications

    CPRS District 13 is accepting applications for District 13 Awards!

    Each year the California Park and Recreation Society District 13 Awards Committee calls for nominations to recognize those individuals and groups in District 13 who have provided outstanding leadership and service during the past year. Members are urged to nominate those individuals who are deserving and meet the established criteria for a District 13 award. Awards may be given to members of the Park & Recreation profession, community members and organizations who are interested in working toward the betterment of public and private, parks and recreation programs within District 13.  Please see attached for further information on nominations and awards. 

    • Applications are due by Thursday, February 6 2020.

    • All applicants will receive notification of the final decisions no later than Monday, February 17, 2020.
    • All awards will be presented at CPRS District 13 ‘Awards and Installation Banquet’ on Thursday, February 27, 2020.

    District 13: Conference & Student Scholarship Applications

    Conference Scholarship Program- is designed to assist parks and recreation professionals looking to develop and increase their knowledge in the field, by providing them the opportunity to attend the 2020 CPRS Conference.  

    • Each scholarship will consist of a full 2020 CPRS Conference registration.
    • One scholarship will be awarded.
    • Applications are due Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 5:00 pm. Please see attached applications for more details.
    • A congratulatory letter will be sent to recipient(s) the following week. 
    • Conference Scholarship recipient will be announced at our annual

    Student Scholarship Program- is designed to assist students sincerely interested in furthering their professional advancement in the field of parks and recreation or a related field. 

    • Each scholarship will consist of a cash award and a certificate. 
    • The committee, upon approval by District 13 Board of Directors, will determine monetary amounts of actual Scholarships for each winner. 
    • The minimum scholarship award will be $500 and the maximum will be up to $1000. 
    • Applications are due Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 5:00 pm. Please see attached applications for more details.
    • Those who qualify as a finalist will be scheduled for an interview. 
    • Awards will be presented at the annual Awards & Installation Dinner on Thursday, February 27, 2020.
