  • You're Invited! CPRS Holiday Social

It's that time of the year!  CPRS D7 invites you to the annual holiday social taking place on December 13 at BOWLERO in Visalia.  The fun starts at 6:00 pm and the entry fee is $25 per person which includes food and bowling.  Check out the attached flyer for more details and make sure to RSVP by December 10.

5 reasons you should celebrate the season with us:

    1. There will be a chance to win a free registration for the 2020 CPRS Conference- That’s potentially $495 that you could save your agency! If you get your registration covered, maybe you can also convince your agency to upgrade the hotel situation.
    2. Showcase your bowling skills- I’m pretty sure the one thing most of us in this profession have in common is our slight to extreme competitiveness. You will be in good company so go ahead, bring it on.
    3. Get to know other park and recreation professionals- If you cringe at the thought of a traditional ‘networking mixer’, trust me you are not alone. The standard mixer doesn’t exactly bring out the best of us in most of us.  Don’t get me wrong- those have value as well, but this event will cater to individuals in similar professions with an atmosphere that is both social and recreational so it won’t feel like the typical exchanging of business cards and talking about the weather (even though that might happen too!).  I first got involved with CPRS a few years ago through the encouragement of my Director, but quickly learned its value as I started navigating a new profession.  Seeing familiar faces at my first CPRS Conference was a great bonus.  If you haven’t been to a CPRS event before, let us know and we will help make introductions.  You never know when you might need a contact for equipment, a recommendation for a program, or have a question about how other agencies tackle an issue.
    4. There will be food… because we all need to eat. Spirited libations will be available for purchase.
    5. It will be fun. Enough said.  Hope to see you there!
