    District 3,

Posting to ask a couple of quick questions about organizations Summer Activity Guides.

How many of you are still publishing a Summer Activity Guide?

If you are publishing a Summer Activity Guide will be electronic only or will you have printed copies as well?

We already printed our summer guide. :(

We are considering digital only for fall.

Thanks for starting this thread. We had not printed ours yet before this all started since we don't typically start registration until early April. We decided to push registration out to early May and we have been able to make changes to the guide. We started pushing out the digital version and we are planning on printing and sending in early May.

We do a Summer Camp pull out in our Spring guide so people signed up for Camps in February with Spring classes. We have a Summer guide that is just classes and programs. We halted printing for that and will be looking at digital also, but not until we are clearer on the future. Once we have a better feel for what beyond May 3 could look like we will determine our course of action. I would rather be a little slow and deliberate in my approach rather than wrong even if it costs me a little.

    Matt,

Like many others, we printed our guides early this year, and had them mailed out to the community on March 2.

We will likely do a digital copy for Fall.

The City of Martinez does digital each season as it is, and then we supplement flyers to schools and preschools. We normally publish in March/April and were just about to before the pandemic started.

Flyers may be a cost effective option if you have a shorter season and if you get foot traffic at your sites. Legal size works great.

We'll do a quick turnaround to get a digital version out if we're able to do any sort of summer programming. Otherwise, we'll be digital for fall with flyers pending schools being in session.

Our Summer Camp guide has already printed, mailed, posted online and registration opened early February. We do a separate Summer Activity guide, which was going to print the same week as the SIP was ordered.  We have delayed printing, and are not sure whether or not we will be printing this guide.  We will probably have a lot of changes to make, so digital is looking like the best case scenario and we are assessing what to do for fall.

As with most other cities, we were in the process of finalizing our guide for mail and digital to go out in April.  We halted, and at this point have decided not to publish for this year.  We may do only a digital one later in the year depending on the when and if we are allowed to continue programming for summer of 2020.  We have supplemented our programs with a virtual site that is being well received.  www.pittsburgrec.com.

Good luck all and stay safe.

Antioch's Summer Guide was arriving in the mail March 13th with summer registration opening the 23rd.  Like everyone else, we are on hold pending new directives.

At the City of Richmond, we had sent our Spring/Summer Activity Guide to print a little while before COVID-19 issue arose.  We didn't have a chance to stop printing.  Although we don't mail our guides, our printed copies are sitting in our Lobby.
