    District 10 Mentorship Program Lunch & Learn #2

    The next iteration of the Mentorship Lunch & Learn is here!

    Come join Joanna Contreras, Recreation Supervisor at City of Newport Beach, and Jake Hopkins, Recreation Supervisor at City of Fountain Valley, as they outline the various tips and tricks with program development.

    Everyone (including non-program participants) is invited to attend and have the opportunity to connect with others and learn what it takes to develop a new program from start to finish!

    New Year, New YOU! Get ready to kick off the new year with a series of training sessions this January! These sessions are designed to support professional development, refresh key skills, and ensure everyone is prepared for the year ahead.

    Registration includes a light morning breakfast, vendor fair access, and lunch.

    2025/2026 D10 Award Nominations Open

    Don't miss out on the chance to recognize the AMAZING people, programs, or facilities in your agency.

    Nominations are now OPEN for a variety of categories, including some new ones:

    Career Achievement Award 

    • This award will recognize a retiree within a member agency or organization who has made significant and lasting contributions to District 10, CPRS, and the Parks and Recreation profession.

    Coveted Leadership Award

    • This award recognizes a recreation professional who has provided outstanding leadership and made significant contributions to District 10 through demonstrated involvement for at least ten years.

    Individual Impact Award (NEW)

    • This award honors an individual who has made a significant impact on the parks and recreation profession within District 10 over the past year.

    Agency of Distinction Award (NEW)

    • This award recognizes a parks and recreation agency that has demonstrated outstanding support and commitment to District 10 and the advancement of the parks and recreation profession within District 10.

    Most Valuable Part-Time Player Award

    • This award recognizes part-time employees who make outstanding contributions to their agency and the community.

    Parks Make Life Better Award

    • The Parks Make Life Better Award honors a District 10 agency, facility, park, Special event, or program that demonstrates creativity and innovation in meeting community needs or enhancing service delivery.

    Distinguished Volunteer Award

    • This award is presented to an individual or an organization in recognition of their contributions to the community, profession, or member agencies.  

    CPRS Connected Community Award (NEW)

    • The Connected Community Award recognizes an agency that has developed an outstanding and effective marketing initiative or campaign that successfully connects residents to recreation and community services.

    D10 JEDI Award (NEW)

    •   The D10 JEDI Award recognizes agencies that demonstrate leadership and commitment to building communities where everyone can live full, dignified, and connected lives.

    Nominations are due February 24, 2026, but don't wait to submit!

    D10 provides Dues Relief to remove a financial barrier that would prevent members from attending events, trainings, and or renewing their membership. 

    All D10 members are encouraged to apply. Non-CPRS members are encouraged to apply to receive membership.

    Recreation Coordinator (Full-Time)

    City of Fountain Valley

    We are seeking a Recreation Coordinator to plan, implement, and oversee engaging recreational, educational, and wellness programs for older adults/seniors. This position is responsible for coordinating activities, managing the senior transportation program, and supporting a positive and inclusive participant experience.

    Recreation Coordinator (Part-Time)

    City of Paramount

    Under direction, to plan, organize, market, assess and coordinate one or more large recreational, instructional, creative and/or athletic programs for participants of all ages. The Recreation Coordinator will train, schedule, and direct the work of part-time employees and volunteers; to ensure the safe and appropriate use of recreation equipment and facilities.
