D&O Section Members,

The Development & Operations Section is your special interest section dedicated to park operations, park development, and facility operations professionals. As we prepare to enter the 2016-2017 year we are looking for members to step forward to serve as leaders in the section. The board is comprised of 11 members and we are in search of 3 members to serve in the following positions:

• Secretary
• Vice President of Development
• Region 4 Representative (Districts 11, 13, 14)

Interested members must be a current member of CPRS and be a primary member of the Development & Operations Section. Just receiving this email does not qualify you in meeting this criteria. Please refer to your CPRS membership card, website, or call the CPRS office at (916) 665-2777 to confirm.

Listed below are brief descriptions of the requirements and duties of each position. Please read through them carefully and if you have questions please contact Tony Hetherman at tonyh@moval.org with your name, agency, and desired position you are interested in serving.

Vice President of Operations

• Solicit membership, partnerships and collaborations with other similar or field-related professionals
  • Develop forum for members with similar interests to collaborate, coordinate and communicate amongst each
• Serves as the Chair of the Annual Park Development and Operations Institute
• Serves as Vice Chair of the Membership and Operations Committee

Secretary

• Maintains records of Section and coordinates the timely distribution and migration of records between current and new Board members
• Prepares and disseminates Meeting agendas and supporting
• Takes and disseminates minutes/action reports from all meetings
• Monitors Board member attendance and advise President if there are attendance lapses
• Maintains roster of Board members and District Representatives
• Maintain roster of AD Hoc and Standing Committees
• Manages the Sections Policies and Procedures
  • Manages the Operational Policy
  • Manages the Sections Annual Calendar
  • Serves as Vice Chair of the Communications and Outreach Committee

Region 4  Representative (Districts 11, 13, 14)

• Maintain contact with section member of District boards; assist with collaboration and coordination between Districts in Region
• Provide information to District Boards on state and section initiatives and programs
• Collect District information to provide to Section newsletter, Section website

• Solicit feedback from District Boards on proposed Section initiatives, programs and membership needs
  • Chair one committee
