  • Call for Nominations of CPRS District 12 Board 2016 - 2017 Term

    District 12 Needs You!!!

    Please find attached information about serving on the CPRS District 12 board and a Call for Nominations. The following positions are open for the 2016-2017 term:
    • President-Elect (three-year series)
    • VP of Communications (two-year series)
    • Treasurer (two-year series)

    Please send me your nomination form by the close of business on, November 12, 2015. Please note, you must be a member of CPRS to be on the CPRS District 12 Board.

    We rely on the volunteer commitments of its members to move the profession forward. Serving on the Board is an outstanding way to get to know other professionals, locally and throughout the State. Board service also creates a unique opportunity to expand your knowledge, develop new skills and effectively market yourself for career advancement.

    The benefits of becoming active in this professional organization are many. While it is different for everyone, the most common benefits are:

    · Becoming more knowledgeable about the recreation profession.

    · Making new acquaintances who do the same thing you do.

    · Networking – finding out about job openings, grant opportunities, development of projects, and who is doing what in different cities.

    · Learning about how Boards operate.

    · Developing new skills at every level.

    · Learning from people other than those you work with directly.

    · Surrounding yourself with smart, motivated, high achievers.

    We also have many appointed positions on the board, such as Member At-Large, which is a great position if you are interested in being on the board and learning many aspects of the board.
