RE: Second Call for Development and Operations Section Board Nominations
Take advantage of an excellent opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to your profession. If not you, then perhaps you know someone who is qualified to take a leadership position. We are seeking candidates for the open positions of Vice President, Treasurer and Representatives for Regions 1, 3 and 5. The Call for Nominations closes on October 29.
The Park Development and Operations Section is the fastest growing and most energized Section in CPRS. We’re moving forward from one of our most successful years in Section history and looking for motivated, enthusiastic Board Members to continue the progress and help build the Section legacy, your legacy.
You can help the Park Development and Operations Section continue to advance its mission. With new strategic goals launching soon and many exciting initiatives on the horizon like the Park Symposium, Park Resources Library and Webinar Series, D&O needs the enthusiastic participation of its members on the Board of Directors.
Here are some of the main functions of a Board member:
- Initiates new programs and improves on existing programs
- Oversees the direction and management of the Section
- Leads specific projects, committees and action teams
- Recruits new members
- Contributes to the association's financial success, and
- Represents the Section and park professionals statewide at conferences and meetings.
The Park Development and Operations Section Board is an active board that really makes a difference for our park profession. We think you’ll find that participating in a leadership role is a challenging, yet very rewarding experience and you can be certain your contributions will be noticed and appreciated by others.
Help lead your professional organization, and the profession, into the future by nominating a colleague, or yourself, for one of these positions. The Call for Nominations closes on October 29 and the election begins and concludes in January. New board members take office at the end of the annual conference in March 2019.
