This is an opportunity to promote recreation, physical fitness, wellness activities to the staff here at the Mendota facility. Most of us commute from the Fresno area and are interested in becoming more active. Review the event details below:

“Lunch and Learn” Event
November 10th, 2016
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
On behalf of the Executive Staff located at the Federal Correctional Institution in Mendota, California, we would like to invite you to celebrate our first Staff Wellness Week. FCI Mendota will host a “Lunch and Learn” educational event from 12:00 PM -1:30 PM on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 for all staff. We believe that through partnership and collaboration with local community partners we can make a positive difference in the health and well-being of each of our staff members. We are seeking your assistance and will provide an educational table/booth for staff to visit at the “Lunch and Learn” event. We invite you to inform and enlighten our staff about the services and benefits of your organization.
Event set-up will begin at 11:00 AM and the event will continue until 1:30 P.M. at our staff training center. This event is a community wide collaborative activity to encourage our staff and families’ to learn, live and maintain healthy lifestyles.
Everyone will have the opportunity to participate in fitness activities, to receive health education materials, and get direct feedback from Health Professionals about their current health. We have a growing population of male and female staff at the institution that could benefit from learning about access to programs within their local community. These programs will highlight for physical health issues, mental health issues, exercise opportunities, proper nutrition, infectious disease control, and the importance of routine health screenings. Success can be achieved by coming to the “Lunch and Learn” event!
