Gary Hover, Nominating Committee
The Park Development and Operations Section is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2020 Board of Directors. We are seeking candidates for the open positions of Vice President, Treasurer (1-year), Secretary, and Regional Representatives for Regions 2 and 4.
Service on the Board of Directors of the Park Development and Operations Section as an officer is a rare opportunity to help drive the decisions of our highly-respected and fast moving professional organization; to shape future opportunities for the education and development of park professionals in California; and to grow personally and professionally; and to heighten your profile and stature and professionally.
The opportunity to work with other leaders in CPRS puts you in contact with professionals on the cutting edge of park planning, design and management issues and trends, and gives you the opportunity to be part of the decision making process at the regional and state level, driving the Section’s strategic goals and energizing CPRS. This is an exciting time to join the leadership of the Park Development and Operations Section while we map our new and ambitious future.
Help lead your professional organization, and the profession, into the future by nominating a colleague, or yourself, for one of these positions. The Call for Nominations closes on October 25 and the election begins and concludes in January. New board members take office at the end of the annual conference in March 2020.
Take a few minutes to consider submitting your name, or that of a colleague, to the Nominating Committee for review. The Nomination Form and the 2020 Candidate Information Guide and a description of the Board duties and responsibilities are attached.
