  • Aging Section at the CPRS Conference

The CPRS Conference is just around the corner. See the below message from Section President, Tiffany Starks.

    Hello Aging Section members!

Conference is a month away and the Aging Section is getting ready for great educational sessions, fun social opportunities, lots of networking and showing CPRS members why the Aging Section is the place to be!

We look forward to you joining us at the many events and programs that we will be hosting, see the following timeline. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Aging Section President Tiffany Starks at tstarks@fontana.org

    Aging Section Social
Tuesday, March 13th from 5pm – 7pm at Bo Beau Kitchen and Rooftap
Join us for appetizers and networking with other Aging Professionals, free of charge. A Save the Date is attached.

Aging Section Conference Booth at the CPRS Expo
    Wednesday, March 14th from 12pm – 5pm
    Thursday, March 15th from 9am – 3pm
In celebration of “1CPRS” the CPRS Sections will be joining forces to provide a Conference Lounge. This will be a perfect opportunity for conference attendees to relax, recharge (their minds and bodies, but also their phones) while learning about CPRS sections and what we can do for them as Parks and Recreation Professionals.
The Aging Section is looking for volunteers to help staff the conference booth. We are looking for Section members who are interested in spreading the word on how great the Aging Section is, why they have chosen to get involved and what being a part of the Section means to them. Don’t worry if you aren’t too familiar with the Aging Section, this is a fantastic opportunity for new and well-established members to get involved. You only need to spare one hour!  Please complete the attached signup sheet and send to Tiffany Starks, tstarks@fontana.org.

    General Membership Meeting
Thursday, March 15th from 12pm – 1pm at the Hyatt Hotel
The Aging Section hosts one in person general membership meeting each year and this is it! Make sure you stop by to see the 2018 Board of Directors get installed, the announcement of this year’s scholarship winners and listen in on what the Aging Section has in store for the next year.

    Poker Pub Crawl
    Thursday March 15th from 7pm – 10pm
The Aging Section will be participating in the CPRS Poker Pub Crawl. The concept is simple, participants will travel from pub to pub gathering playing cards trying to get the best poker hand. We are looking for three volunteers that can hang out at one of the pub locations and distribute playing cards to all the visitors. Interested? I know you are. Email Tiffany Starks at tstarks@fontana.org and say “I’m In!”
***“The first round of drinks for the three volunteers will be one me” – Tiffany Starks, Aging Section President (It’s in writing so it must be true!)

And last, but definitely not least, check out these Aging related educational sessions happening at Conference!
