  • Healthy Play Grant Educational Events

    CPRS is teaming up with PlayCore & GameTime to promote play and health across California! Attend one of their professional development events to learn how design practices can help your park or recreation area improve the health and quality of life for families in your community. Attending this event will give you more information on how your community can win a grant for developing a new recreation area, so send anyone on your team that works on grants or in the park development and planning process. The grant that’s being offered covers 100% of the funds to develop a new recreation project that promotes health and wellness. This year, CPRS Region 5 is scheduled to have 3 potential winners, so the odds of winning are looking good!

    10:00am - 10:15am: Registration
    10:15am - 10:45am: Welcome & Introduction to the CPRS State-Wide Healthy Play Training and Funding Initiative
     10:45am - 12:00pm: Education Session Part 1 (Advocating for the Research Benefits of Play)
     12:00pm - 12:30pm: Lunch (Provided by GameTime & Great Western Recreation/MRC)
     12:00pm - 1:15pm: Education Session Part 2 (Putting Research to Practice- Hands-On Learning Activity)
