  • 1.  Employee Recognition Programs

    Does anyone have a unique employee recognition program (for part-time and full-time) that wouldn't mind sharing? We have year-round part-time, as well as summer, employees so a sustainable recognition program would be great!

    Hello Ben:

    We do not currently have one. I would be very interested to know what information you gather from other cities.

    One thing we are doing this upcoming staff meeting is having our staff tell us what type of rewards they would be interested and what they feel are achievable standards for each reward. (i.e. name on jacket at the year mark, or $5 gift card once certified in opening and closing building)

    Hello,

    Signal Hill has a simple but very do-able program. We have employee(s) of the quarter (full time, part time, police, city yard) each of the employees gets movie tickets and a little bonus . Employees are nominated by peers and the department heads make the final decision on who receives the awards. We also have two city events throughout the year. A holiday luncheon and a BBQ during the summer. These events are funded and put on through the HR department.

    I have also done things for staff like; random holiday week, pin nominations, employee of the month, celebrate national after school week ect...
