    Don't miss out on the chance to recognize the AMAZING people, programs, or facilities in your agency.

    Nominations are OPEN for a variety of categories, including some new ones:

    Agency of Distinction Award (NEW)

    • This award recognizes a parks and recreation agency that has demonstrated outstanding support and commitment to District 10 and the advancement of the parks and recreation profession within District 10.

    Individual Impact Award (NEW)

    • This award honors an individual who has made a significant impact on the parks and recreation profession within District 10 over the past year.

    CPRS Connected Community Award (NEW)

    • The Connected Community Award recognizes an agency that has developed an outstanding and effective marketing initiative or campaign that successfully connects residents to recreation and community services.

    D10 JEDI Award (NEW)

    • The D10 JEDI Award recognizes agencies that demonstrate leadership and commitment to building communities where everyone can live full, dignified, and connected lives.

    Career Achievement Award 

    • This award will recognize a retiree within a member agency or organization who has made significant and lasting contributions to District 10, CPRS, and the Parks and Recreation profession.

    Coveted Leadership Award

    • This award recognizes a recreation professional who has provided outstanding leadership and made significant contributions to District 10 through demonstrated involvement for at least ten years.

    Most Valuable Part-Time Player Award

    • This award recognizes part-time employees who make outstanding contributions to their agency and the community.

    Parks Make Life Better Award

    • The Parks Make Life Better Award honors a District 10 agency, facility, park, Special event, or program that demonstrates creativity and innovation in meeting community needs or enhancing service delivery.

    Distinguished Volunteer Award

    • This award is presented to an individual or an organization in recognition of their contributions to the community, profession, or member agencies.

    Mentor Program Interactive Panel Recap

    CPRS District 10 was proud to partner with D9 and WILS to host an engaging Mentor Program Interactive Panel! With over 40 participants in attendance, the event created a dynamic space for meaningful networking, thoughtful conversation, and the opportunity to learn directly from experienced recreation professionals.

    Thank you to our panelists and attendees for sharing your insights, asking great questions, and helping build strong connections across districts. Together, we're continuing to support and inspire the next generation of recreation leaders!

    Winter RLTC Recap

    The Winter RLTC in collaboration with LURPA was this past Saturday in the city of South Gate! There were over 50 participants in attendance with topics presented by RLTC and LURPA Committee Members, including Budgeting 101, Networking for the Job you want, and How to Stand Out in Your Current Position.

    Dues Relief

    D10 provides Dues Relief to remove a financial barrier that would prevent members from attending events, trainings, and or renewing their membership. 

    Some events that Dues Relief can be used for include:

    • LURPA | February 26

    • Spring Membership | May 7

    All D10 members are encouraged to apply. Non-CPRS members are encouraged to apply to receive membership.

    Deputy Director of Parks, Recreation, and Library Services (Full-Time)

    City of Signal Hill

    Under general direction from the Parks, Recreation and Library Services Director, assists, plans, manages, oversees, and directs the operations, programs, and services of the assigned divisions or programs in the Parks, Recreation, and Library Services Department, including parks and recreation programming, special events, facility rentals, youth and family programs, senior programs, social services, transportation, animal services, contract classes, library services, and customer service.

    Activity Specialist (Temporary/Part-Time)

    City of Downey

    The Activity Specialist is responsible for creating welcoming, engaging, and inclusive recreation experiences for youth and park patrons. In this role, they design and oversee a variety of programs ranging from sports and crafts to special events, field trips, and adaptive recreation ensuring that participants of all abilities feel supported and included.
