    D10 Appointed Position Applications Open

    Are you looking to level up and make a difference? Apply for a D10 Appointed Board position!

    Applications are now currently being accepted for a variety of board positions. To be eligible for a board position, you must:

    • Be a current member of CPRS

    • Live in or work for an agency within the boundaries of District 10

    • Attend the Awards and Installation Banquet on April 9 in Fullerton

    • Attend Monthly Board Meetings

    2025/2026 D10 Award Nominations Open

    Don't miss out on the chance to recognize the AMAZING people, programs, or facilities in your agency.

    A variety of NEW awards are also eligible for submission this year, in which we highlight the:

    Agency of Distinction Award (NEW)

    This award recognizes a parks and recreation agency that has demonstrated outstanding support and commitment to District 10 and the advancement of the parks and recreation profession within District 10. The honored agency actively encourages staff participation in professional development, supports District 10 and CPRS events, and contributes to the growth and visibility of the field through collaboration, innovation, and community impact.

    Eligibility includes:

    • Open to District 10 agencies

    • Must have supported District 10 initiatives over the past year through participation, hosting, or other active involvement

    • Recognizes agencies that promote professional development, encourage staff engagement, and advance the parks and recreation profession

    • Honored agencies show leadership, collaboration, and community impact that strengthen District 10

    Nominations are also OPEN for a variety of categories, including some new ones:

    Individual Impact Award (NEW)

    • This award honors an individual who has made a significant impact on the parks and recreation profession within District 10 over the past year.

    CPRS Connected Community Award (NEW)

    • The Connected Community Award recognizes an agency that has developed an outstanding and effective marketing initiative or campaign that successfully connects residents to recreation and community services.

    D10 JEDI Award (NEW)

    • The D10 JEDI Award recognizes agencies that demonstrate leadership and commitment to building communities where everyone can live full, dignified, and connected lives.

    Career Achievement Award 

    • This award will recognize a retiree within a member agency or organization who has made significant and lasting contributions to District 10, CPRS, and the Parks and Recreation profession.

    Coveted Leadership Award

    • This award recognizes a recreation professional who has provided outstanding leadership and made significant contributions to District 10 through demonstrated involvement for at least ten years.

    Most Valuable Part-Time Player Award

    • This award recognizes part-time employees who make outstanding contributions to their agency and the community.

    Parks Make Life Better Award

    • The Parks Make Life Better Award honors a District 10 agency, facility, park, Special event, or program that demonstrates creativity and innovation in meeting community needs or enhancing service delivery.

    Distinguished Volunteer Award

    • This award is presented to an individual or an organization in recognition of their contributions to the community, profession, or member agencies.

    CPRS CONNECTIONS 2026 Intensives and Other Events

    Conference is going to be here before you know it, and what better way to kick off your CONNECTIONS 2026 experience than with an Intensive and/or other pre-Conference event!

    Dues Relief

    D10 provides Dues Relief to remove a financial barrier that would prevent members from attending events, trainings, and or renewing their membership. 

    Some events that Dues Relief can be used for include:

    • Winter RLTC | February 7

    • LURPA | February 26

    • Spring Membership | May 7

    All D10 members are encouraged to apply. Non-CPRS members are encouraged to apply to receive membership.

    Community Services Specialist (Part-Time)

    City of Placentia

    Under the direction of the Community Services Coordinator, Community Services Program Coordinator, or Community Services Sr. Specialist, the Community Services Specialist plans and organizes special events, develops, promotes, oversees, and evaluates recreation programs, plans and schedules the work of part-time and seasonal staff, and manages the operations of designated recreation facilities and community centers.

    Senior Activity Specialist (Temporary/Part-Time)

    City of Downey

    Under general supervision, supervises assigned recreational part-time staff, volunteers and contract personnel, monitors facility usage, facility maintenance, and is responsible for the opening and closing of facilities.
