Financial Sustainability Certificate Program Part 2 is returning to California next month in Huntington Beach, CA, June 16-18!  Register by Thursday, May 28.

Led by Jamie Sabbach of 110% and Kevin Shepherd of Verdunity, this next-level program will build upon what was learned in Part 1 of the Financial Sustainability Certificate Program and take an engaging and practical deep dive into imperative financial topics such as:

    • understanding cost of service
    • investment versus consumption spending
    • the tension between stability and growth
    • the "oh s*#t moments" of taxes and math
    • productively engaging community and policy makers
    • policy development, design, and adoption

Completion of the Part 1 program is recommended but not required.

Through applied learning, peer dialogue, and practical methods and tools, participants will emerge better prepared to lead with clarity and advocate for financially sustainable decision making. The journey concludes with actionable takeaways and support for "what's next" in each learner's unique path.

From the perspective of a Part 2 attendee, "Part 1 focuses on your department and role while Part 2 helps you understand the bigger picture of your agency and decision makers relative to your department."

The Financial Sustainability Certificate Program Part 2 is approved to offer 1.5 CEU for both the Certified Park & Recreation Professional (CPRP) and Certified Park & Recreation Executive (CPRE) certifications.  CEU is included with registration – no more added on fees!

The deadline to register is May 29, 2026.

The next Part 2 session of the Financial Sustainability Certificate Program will not take place until 2027.  Stay tuned for details about the new FSCP Implementation Workshop coming this fall!
