Recreation professionals are the subject matter experts on youth development, program design, safety protocols, staff supervision, and creating engaging, age-appropriate experiences for children and teens in summer day camps.
In this Zoom Office Hour, recreation professionals will understand how their involvement ensures that summer day camp programs are not only fun and appealing, but also safe, inclusive, well-structured, and aligned with developmental, social, and wellness goals. Without their input, a camp may appear exciting on the surface but fall short in areas like supervision, activity balance, risk management, or accessibility- leading to participant dissatisfaction, safety concerns, and missed opportunities to positively impact youth.
