Our team is working on starting our first Holiday House Decorating Contest for our community.

Does anyone currently do an event like this and is willing to share their rules, guidelines, and information they distribute?

Hi Jake,

Costa Mesa hosts an annual Holiday Lights Contest. While we don't have formal rules or judging criteria, official participation/prize winning is limited to Costa Mesa residents who register in advance. Once registered and verified, households can pick up a yard sign identifying them as a contestant. The sign includes a QR code that allows community members to vote for their favorite display as they tour the neighborhood. The winners are determined by popular vote and announced at our annual Snoopy House event.

Good Morning Jake,

The City of Laguna Niguel hosts an annual Holiday Lights Contest.  I have attached the flyer as well as a yard sign each winner receives.  The judging is done by City staff, Commissioners and City Council if they would like to participate.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
