I am currently working on an apprenticeship and workforce development program designed to prepare current and future recreation workers for careers in recreation, parks, and community services through a combination of work-based learning, academic instruction, and mentorship.
The working title is Fresno State Recreation Apprenticeship Program (RAP), and the program will include:
- 2,000 Work-Based Learning Hours: For this initial phase of the program, we'd recruit your current employees who you might see as future full-time employees.
- 180 Supplemental Instructional Hours: Fresno State will provide four 3-unit university-level courses at no cost to the apprentice or agency. Courses are planned to be online/ asynchronous.
