I am the Recreation Coordinator for the Thousand Oaks Community Center for Conejo Recreation and Park District, and I have been in this position for 5 years. Since we are doing fun facts- I love watching and playing basketball, and I am an avid board gamer (I even created a game with my dad once, though we were the only two people to ever play it 😅)

My name is John Doss and I am the Recreation Coordinator for the Templeton Community Service District, a tiny but mighty community in Northern San Luis Obispo County. I've been CPRS member since 2021 and got involved with D8 in 2021, thanks to my mentors Mel, Ken and Reese. I love the camaraderie and willingness to help from everyone in this district! That had been sorely lacking in previous positions I have held outside of recreation. 

Sticking with the fun fact theme, I have a passion for sports, all sports, except pickleball. (Tim, we need to talk basketball at our next event!) I also enjoy playing poker when and where ever I can. Lastly, sarcasm is my friend! Come on D8! Let's keep this thread going and get 1st place in this month's challenge!

Hello to my D8 colleagues, 

It seems I'll be double dipping on this Intro and Fun Fact theme between the Admin Section and my favorite District!  I am Greg Avakian and am the Director for City of SLO Parks & Recreation Department for just under 5 years now.  Previously I was the campus recreation director for 6 years at Cal Poly (as well as a variety of other roles within the campus rec department for total of 20 years).  Prior to being at Cal Poly, I got my start with CPRS while in the Aquatics Coordinator role with the City of San Ramon and served on District 3 Board in a few different roles, as well as being part of the founding team of the CPRS Aquatic Section (President 1999-2000).  

My Fun Fact is that I've spent time on all 6 visitable Hawaiin Islands (the other 2 are off limits) for scuba, swim, and surf experiences. 

BTW, there may be a need to organize a D8 Band with Wyatt, Mel, and Larry Kim, and ????

My name is Robbie Hoag. I'm an Administrative Assistant for the City of Paso Robles, where I've been for just over 2 years now. I've been working in recreation since 2011 and worked for the Cities of Huntington Beach, El Segundo, Santa Monica, and Manhattan Beach all in Recreation. 

I truly enjoy karaoke, trail and road running, and playing games with friends. Cant wait for the next social!
