Keynote speaker, Drew McAdams

Drew McAdams has been working, teaching, and learning in the recreation profession for the past 3 decades.  A full-time surfer and part-time avocado farmer, Drew loves the outdoors, reading books and is a total foodie and basketball junkie.  Drew is known for his energy and enthusiasm, which he gets from coffee, his dog, being solar-powered, and telling bad dad jokes.

In 2008 Drew began teaching recreation at SFSU until 2021.  Drew was in the top three highest student-evaluated professors in the College of Health and Human Services Dept during his tenure at SFSU. With all this, Drew brings an extensive background in play theory, recreation programming, team building, community outreach, event management, leadership development, and experiential education.
