You can log distance in three ways:

  • Running, Walking, Rolling
  • Cycling
  • Swimming

You can do any of these activities and they will all count toward your overall mileage.  ChallengeRunner will show a different color for each activity in your cumulative mileage bar.  We will post the cumulative total for each category on Monday mornings on the CPRS web site.

All the technical stuff...

In order to receive data in ChallengeRunner from tracking devices, you must first install the appropriate supported tracking software and create an account on the activity tracker's website. The following tracking software is supported:

  • Apple Health
  • Fitbit
  • Garmin
  • Google Fit (Mobile)
  • MapMyFitness
  • Polar
  • Samsung Health
  • Strava
  • Suunto

All privacy settings must be set to public. Then you must register for the challenge and, once complete, the Challenge Log page displays. Click the Trackers button. The User Profile dialog will appear. Click the Authorize link next to the fitness tracking device you would like to use. Depending on the device selected, an Authorization page is displayed. Fill in the Id and password for your device/tracking software. Click the Allow button if it is presented to allow ChallengeRunner to collect data from your device manufacturer’s website on your behalf.

NOTE: If you are already logged into the tracker website such as fitbit.com or garmin.com, you may not be presented with a login page and simply be authorized with no further input. The ChallengeRunner website will display a message stating Authorization Successful. Close the User Profile dialog.
