On Saturday, March 7, 2026, the Youth and Teen Recreation Services subcommittee of the California Parks and Recreation Society, District 4, are excited to host our bi-annual YAC (Youth Advisory Council) Attack at the Los Altos Community Center.
This one-day event gives teens in Youth Advisory Councils (grades 6–12) throughout San Mateo, San Francisco, and Santa Clara counties the opportunity to attend workshops, participate in leadership building activities, and access valuable resources. We typically welcome about 120 teens at the event.
Workshop Opportunities:
We're looking for individuals and organizations interested in leading a workshop session during the event.
Please keep in mind that the 2026 theme is Rise to the Challenge: The Youth in Government Game Show. This should be incorporated into your workshop presentation in some way. Suggested topics include Time & Stress Management, Mental Health, Study Skills, Civic Engagement, Financial Planning (budgeting & saving), Event Planning, Marketing & Promotion, Career & College Planning, JEDI, LGBTQ+, Environmental Sustainability, Team Building, and YAC experiences.
Workshop session times:

Workshop 1 (5 sessions): 9:15 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Workshop 2 (5 sessions): 10:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Workshop 3 (5 sessions): 11:15 p.m. - 12:00 p.m.
