  • 1.  Pickleball Courts and Sand Volleyball Court

    Posted 06-21-2023 03:37 PM

    Hello,

The City of Lindsay is in the planning stages of creating 2 pickleball courts and a sand volleyball court.  Have you recently, within the past couple of years, installed a pickleball court and/or sand volleyball court?

I am in need of pricing of each project to estimate the cost for each project to present for funding.

Thank You!  Any help is appreciated!

We utilize our community center gym for pickleball. There is a volleyball court overlay on the basketball court that lines up almost perfectly for two courts to fit in the gym. As we do not run a competitive program, we use a simple set up for the temporary playing ground.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello,

We installed 2 courts at KC Park in 2021 which cost us close to $90,000 for both.

The fencing and concrete work $40,000 (I don't think it will be this cheap ever again I would double it)

    Solar Lighting $37,00

    Surfacing $8,600

    Nets and bench $2,000

We could have made better decisions on the concrete work. We hired a company and they put contraction joints throughout the slab. I was freaking out when I saw it, because you don't normally have cracks on any sports courts. I was told by the company and an engineer you have to contraction joints to allow the concrete to move or it will naturally crack in random places and we will have a bigger issue later. I called after the fact a city by the coast who installed 10 courts. They said they put a support structure around and under the courts to pour 1 solid slab with no cracks. I am told this is more expensive, but holds up better. It was too late for me in my situations so he gave me a contact to a place in Fresno that does Surface Repairs. I was looking for a company anyways to do the paint and striping so I was glad to get connected.  The Surface Repair company told me it was fine that they installed contractions joints and the paint will fill it in where you don't see the joints.
