Region_1_Fall_ForumCPRS is your one-stop shop for the largest gatherings of your Park and Recreation peers, with our wide variety of multi-day educational events. These extended programs often include lodging, catered meals, and socializing in beautiful locations all throughout California.

At CPRS, our education and training programs are designed to give Park and Recreation professionals a competitive edge. Our educational events not only help build competency, but also offer unique opportunities to connect and network with industry leaders and vendors. Continuing Education Units are also available for many programs, offering professionals a chance to pursue or renew certification in a variety of areas.

This 3-day management school offers training and educational sessions for all aquatics professionals, from pool managers and coordinators to recreation and aquatic supervisors and administrators. With nationally recognized speakers, CAMS showcases the latest trends in aquatic programming.

Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI)

Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI)

Presented by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) / hosted by CPRS 
CPRS, in conjunction with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) are dedicated to promoting children's right to play in a safe and challenging play environment. The CPSI program offers the most comprehensive and up-to-date training on playground safety as well as provides certification for playground safety inspectors.

Depending on current conditions, CPSI is available as an in-person, 3-day course as well as a "blended online" version where participants receive instruction online and take their exam at a certified testing center. Visit the CPSI page to learn more!

Director's and Executive Summits

The Director's Summit or Executive Summit  is a statewide two-day training for current agency directors, executives, and those desiring to take on such a role in the future. Every year, 150+ park and recreation professionals, representing over 60 public agencies, arrive in stunning Lake Arrowhead to participate in this one-week program.  With a curriculum spanning five years, the school teaches a systematic approach for determining the resources needed to maintain a public facility.

50 recreation professionals will come together for a NEW program planned for Lake Arrowhead, beginning in the Fall of 2020. This school will help you acquire the skills that set you apart, as you position yourself for growth as a recreation professional. In addition to building professional connections with your peers, enjoy hot-topic sessions taught by peers who are leaders in their field!
